“Dad was the heart of the family, and when he died, we were scattered to the winds. Now we have a place to 'go' and share our memories and stories about Dad. I love reading little anecdotes about him that I have never heard before or seeing a picture that might have been at a family member’s place or in a friend’s attic".
For Pia, the opportunity to have the memories in one place made a huge difference. "We needed a place to remember him together. So besides it being wonderful to look at my dad's life and, for example, show it to my grandchildren, it has been very much in my dad's spirit to bring the family together in this way - and that's what the memorial does," Pia concludes.
